Providing affirming therapeutic care and transforming lives with an inclusive, nonjudgmental space for healing and growth

About Li Rubino, LMFT-A (They/Them)

Therapeutic Approach: My practice is informed mostly by the Satir Model though I often intertwine interventions from other various models as applicable, including: DBT, CBT, ACT, IFS, EFT, Mindfulness, Art Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, etc. I value the compassionate, client-centered approach the Satir Model embraces and, dependent on client needs, I also find it beneficial to implement additional interventions.

Experience and Knowledge with: Gender diverse and/or transgender, queer, polyamorous, and/or disabled individuals, as well as folks who present with symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder I&II, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dissociative Disorders, and various eating disorder presentations, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge-Eating Disorder, with a special focus for Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder.

Hobbies & Interests: Outside of my work as a therapist, I volunteer with the Exotic Bird Rescue of Oregon where I focus on fostering a single abused/neglected Macaw in need of a safe and caring home while they wait to be placed in their forever home. If you are interested in my current foster’s story, you can find a blog post here made by the rescue - https://www.ebroregon.org/post/rescuing-princess-the-macaw.

Bio: When I was 16yrs of age, I made the decision to pursue becoming a therapist and, since then, have spent over a decade preparing to do so. Although I began seeing clients as a therapist intern in June 2022 and graduated from the University of Oregon's Couple's and Family Therapy Program in March of 2025, I feel confident in my ability to navigate most client concerns which arise within our therapeutic work together. I am currently a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and working towards becoming fully licensed within the state of Oregon.
